Relationship Between Shots
I chose a scene from the show Euphoria (season 2, episode 3) because it was surprising to the viewer. The scene starts off with an long shot of five girls in the bathroom with a large mirror in front of them. The second shot is a close up shot of two girls talking to the girl not in view, Cassie. The third shot is a closer shot of Cassie's entire face yelling at the two girls not in the recent shot. In the middle of her yelling it goes back to the same shot of the two girls looking at her. It then goes back to Cassie yelling at them in the close up shot. The next shot was a different character, Rue, they gave her a close up where she looks at Cassie confused. They do another close up of another character Lexi, with the same look on her face. The shot then goes back to the close up of Cassie where she is still yelling even more mad at this point. At the end of the shot theyturn left to look at Cassie through the mirror and its back to a mid shot of her. The shots are organized well becuase it is evoking in emotion to the viewer so they can understand what is happening. The close up of the girl yelling and then switching to close ups of the other chracters looking at her in a confused way shows the viewer that she is going through something that the others do not fuly understand just yet. The shots are all extremely saturized and full of vibrant colors. I believe the film maker did this to fit the vibe of the show that is about teens in highschool aiming to figure out their lives in the midst of lots of drama that occurs.
